Privacy policy
PetTrackr helps you look after your pets: their schedule, health, food, photos and papers. This policy explains what the PetTrackr app and this website (pettrackr.app) collect, why, where it goes, and how to remove it. We have tried to write it in plain language.
Who we are
PetTrackr is operated by Ali Makhlouf, an independent developer based in Palestine, who is responsible for your data (the “controller”). Contact: alimakhloufj.apps@gmail.com.
The website and the waitlist
When you join the waitlist we store:
- your email address;
- the page you signed up on and the time you signed up.
To stop automated abuse, we also keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for a short time to limit how often the form can be used. We cannot turn it back into your IP address.
Why: because you asked us to (your consent, given by submitting the form). We use your email only to tell you PetTrackr has launched, to send your early-access discount and, rarely, to share important news about it. We never sell it or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
How long: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until one year after launch if you have not created an account, whichever comes first. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can email us at any time to be removed.
Analytics: this website uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally. We do not use advertising trackers.
What the app stores
- Your account: your email address and the name you sign up with. If you sign in with Google, the name and email Google shares.
- Your pets’ information: profiles, tasks, activities, meals, weights, health records, vaccinations, vet visits, medications, supplies and training progress you enter.
- Photos and documents you add to a pet’s gallery, profile or document library.
- Device details for notifications: a push-notification token and your time zone, so reminders reach the right phone at the right time.
Without an account, everything stays on your phone and nothing is sent to us. Conversations with the in-app assistant are stored only on your phone.
Who processes it
- Supabase hosts our database, file storage and the waitlist, so your pets sync across your devices and with the family members you invite.
- Vercel hosts this website and its sign-up form.
- OpenAI answers the in-app assistant. When you send it a message, it receives your message and a summary of the pet you are asking about. It also writes the wording of some insights and photo stories from pet details (never your photos).
- Google: Gemini estimates the portion in a bowl photo you choose to scan (the photo is used for that estimate and not kept by us); Firebase delivers push notifications; Google Calendar receives your pet events only if you connect it; Google sign-in if you use it.
- RevenueCat and Google Play / the App Store handle subscriptions. We never see your payment details.
These providers process data only to run PetTrackr, under their own security and privacy commitments. Some are based in the United States or elsewhere outside your country, so your data may be processed there.
We do not sell your data, show third-party ads, or share it with anyone other than the services above.
Family sharing
When you invite someone to a pet, they can see that pet’s information, photos and documents, according to the role you give them. You can remove them at any time.
Photos and documents
Photos and documents you add are stored in our file storage at long, random web addresses that cannot be guessed or listed. The app only shows them to you and the people you share the pet with. Anyone who is given a file’s exact address could open it, so please don’t post those links publicly.
Keeping and deleting your data
App data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account (Settings, then Delete my account) permanently removes your account, your pets and their records from our servers. Deleting a pet removes that pet. You can export a pet’s health summary at any time, for free.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to: tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy; correct it; delete it; or stop using it. You can withdraw consent to waitlist emails at any time, which does not affect anything we did before. Email alimakhloufj.apps@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, access to your pets’ records is limited to you and the people you share them with, and we keep what we collect to what PetTrackr needs.
Children
PetTrackr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Children can help with a family pet on a parent’s account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app and update the date above.
